Divorce is a process in which the legal relationship between couples ends. In divorce cases, issues such as property sharing, alimony, and child custody also come to the fore. According to the Turkish Civil Code, property sharing is based on the principle of equality between spouses, but a fair share is decided by considering the duration of the marriage, the spouses' contributions, and other factors.

In Türkiye, 40% of divorce cases in 2023 resulted in property sharing and alimony requests. Divorce rates, especially in big cities, are 15% higher than in rural areas.

Children's Rights & Custody
